There are thousands of different kriyas/sets in Kundalini Yoga classes that are scientifically designed with a combination of playful exercises, stretches and poses, breath techniques, simple chanting, and meditation. Each class has a specific rhythm and purpose which creates a desired effect. In winter we may do a kriya for Disease Resistance to ward off colds and the flu. In Springtime we clean out the liver with the kriya Let the Liver Live. A tense political climate is the perfect time for Relieving Stress and Anxiety or The Kriya for Tolerance. Others include: Detoxing, Get Down to Get Up (for depression), The Kriya for Conquering Sleep Issues, Relieving Inner Anger, Have a Heart, What to do for the Sugar Blues, Releasing Fear, and The Reserve Energy Set.
Have you heard of a Sound Bath? You won't get wet because there's no water involved . A Sound Bath is an ancient sound-healing practice where you relax in a reclining position – often in savasana (corpse pose) – and allow the healing sounds of traditional musical performances to bathe over you. The sound is typically made with different instruments and methods. Come experience the healing gong vibrations at The Yoga Garage.
